Since 2000, Rachel has had the privilege of interviewing thousands of economic developers, corporate executives, business and government leaders, and higher education system officials to tell the story of business expansion and the economic trends that affect a variety of industry sectors.
These opportunities complement Rachel’s belief that communities and regions have the people, tools and assets in place to retain and grow companies and their job base, as well as foster new economic growth in the knowledge-based economy. She notes it has been a fulfilling experience to share these stories and successes with business executives who are seeking insights into the best practices, challenges and rewards of expanding their businesses.
When she is not working, Rachel can be found riding her bicycle all over eastern Kansas — a state which contrary to popular belief is not flat as a pancake. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1993 with a B.S. degree in journalism.
