Australian-based energy efficiency company, Ecosave, has selected the Navy Yard in Philadelphia for the location of its U.S. headquarters and first location in North America, creating 125 new jobs.

Ecosave has provided energy and water saving solutions to more than 250 organizations in commercial, retail and industrial arenas, as well as to departments in all levels of the Australian government. Ecosave is operated through Ecosave’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ecosave Pty Limited.

In 2010, the company contacted Pennsylvania’s investment representative in Sydney and began looking to expand into the U.S. market. In June 2013, Ecosave purchased a building automation company in Bristol, Pennsylvania and has recently moved from that site into the new space.

Working with the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Office of International Business Development (OIBD), Ecosave has set up operations working at The Navy Yard, investing more than $10 million at the site. The site will be developed by Liberty Property Trust.

“Ecosave joins a growing list of successful businesses locating their headquarters in Philadelphia,” says John Grady, president,  Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp. “The partnership between the city of Philadelphia, PIDC, Select Greater Philadelphia, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been vital to attracting great companies like Ecosave, and we are thrilled they have chosen a sustainable and innovative place like The Navy Yard Smart Energy Campus for its North American headquarters.”
