Kentucky Extends Tax Credit for Metropolitan College

On October 4 Governor Steve Beshear and UPS Inc. officials and community leaders ceremonially signed House Bill 246, which extends a tax credit program to the Metropolitan College, a program of several organizations that provides Kentucky residents access to a tuition-free postsecondary education and employment opportunities. The program works to improve employee retention and recruitment at UPS Worldport, the company’s Louisville air hub.

The tax credit, which was set to expire next year, has been extended to April 15, 2017. The credit allows UPS to recover 50 percent of tuition paid for its employees and related fees.
